Frontend Engineer
More than four years building the frontend of Ontop (YC W21), a global hiring and payments platform for remote teams. I was co-responsible for the shared component library, built the KYB and KYC onboarding that companies and workers completed before they could move money, and shipped across the core product: login, sign-up, wallet, card, contracts and settings.
What I did
Design system & shared component library
Co-responsible for the UI component library shared by several Ontop products. I worked on design tokens, component APIs and the visual standards that kept screens consistent from one product to the next, building from Figma together with the design team. The library had at least 35 components by the time I moved to another team, and it kept growing after that.
KYB: verifying client companies
Built the Know Your Business onboarding for client companies: the step-by-step flow that collected the data needed to verify the people responsible for a company and its incorporation, in line with anti-money-laundering (AML) policies, before the company could operate on the platform.
KYC: verifying workers
Built the Know Your Customer flow for workers, completed before they could reach their wallet and card. Identity verification itself ran on third-party providers (MetaMap and Alloy), an integration owned by other engineers. My part was the experience around it: multi-step Reactive Forms, custom validation and a flow tuned so people actually finish the process.
Onboarding on both sides: app and admin
Onboarding lived in two places: the main app and the internal Admin View (ADMV). I built the KYB and KYC screens on both sides, plus other sections of the admin tool.
Core product areas
Designed and shipped key areas of the product: Login, Sign-up, Wallet, Card, Contracts and Settings.
Card team: card UI and transactions
On the Card team I built the UI for the card experience: its components, the freeze card control and the transactions table. Along the way I raised an improvement in how sensitive card data was handled on the client side so the team could address it.
Transactional email system
Built a template system on a custom SASS-based framework. It covers about 80% of the product's transactional emails: around 65 templates, from welcome messages to OTP verification and notifications.
Angular modernization
Brought the apps to modern Angular across versions 14 to 19: standalone components, Signals with OnPush change detection and route-level lazy loading, improving initial load and rendering.
Testing & teamwork
Unit tests with Jest and Jasmine. Daily work with design, backend and product in agile cycles, fully remote.
