UI Developer

Preventor

My first remote role, early in my career: I built the UI for an anti-money-laundering (AML) compliance product sold to banks, first in HTML and Sass and then in Angular.

What I did

UI for a compliance product

Built the interface components behind screens for alert management, client due diligence and regulatory reporting.

From HTML and Sass to Angular

Started by building components in plain HTML and Sass, then moved them into Angular 8 as the product grew. This is where I learned Angular.

CSS architecture refactor

Restructured the SCSS architecture, reducing the frontend bundle by about 25% and making the styles easier to maintain.

Quality

Built responsive UI components and supported unit testing with Jasmine and Karma.

First look at compliance

My role was the interface, not the business rules, but it was my first exposure to a compliance product, a domain I worked in much more closely years later at Ontop with KYB and KYC.
